Answers given by elementary school age children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She’s the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

What kind of little girl was your Mom?
1. My Mom has always been my Mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don’t know because I wasn’t there, but my guess would be pretty
bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I’d get rid
of that.
2. I’d make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who
did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on her back.

Who’s the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn’t want to be boss, but she has to because dad’s such a goof
ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the
bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL OUR GREAT MOMS!

LEASE RENEWALS

Lease renewals are mailed out to residents at least 45 days before the end of their current Lease End Date. The lease renewal must be returned to the Leasing Office 1 month prior to the end of your current lease term.

If you do not do this, your lease will automatically renew for 12 months at the rate quoted on your lease renewal form. If you intend to move; please fill out a Notice to Vacate and include a forwarding address. This can be picked up in the Leasing Office. Sorry, we cannot accept a verbal notice to vacate.

It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and the butcher is just locking up when a man begins pounding on the front door.

RECIPES!

After-School Snacks

Pita Nachos Split a whole-wheat pita into 2 rounds, then cut into wedges. Broil until golden, then sprinkle with grated cheddar and salsa and broil until the cheese melts. Top with sliced scallions.

Chocolate Chow Mein Microwave 1/4 cup each peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter until melted. Put 3 cups each chow mein noodles and Chex cereal, and 1/2 cup each chopped peanuts and raisins in a resealable plastic bag; add the chocolate mixture and shake to coat. Add 2 cups confectioners’ sugar and shake again.

Pretzel Melts Sandwich small slices of cheddar between mini pretzels. Put on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake about 10 minutes at 425 degrees F. Serve with mustard.

Yogurtwiches Place a scoop of frozen yogurt between graham cracker squares. Roll the edges in chocolate chips. Freeze until firm.

Brownie Pudding

½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, plus extra for buttering the dish

4 extra-large eggs, at room temperature

2 cups sugar

¾ cup good cocoa powder

½ cup all-purpose flour

Seeds scraped from 1 vanilla bean

1 tablespoon framboise liqueur (optional)

Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly butter a 2-quart (9 by 12 by 2-inch) oval baking dish. Melt the 1/2 pound of butter and set aside to cool.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the eggs and sugar on medium-high speed for 5 to 10 minutes, until very thick and light yellow. Meanwhile, sift the cocoa powder and flour together and set aside.

When the egg and sugar mixture is ready, reduce the speed to low and add the vanilla seeds, framboise, if using, and the cocoa powder and flour mixture. Mix only until combined. With mixer still on low, slowly pour in the cooled butter and mix again just until combined.

Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared dish and place it in a larger baking pan. Add enough of the hottest tap water to the pan to come halfway up the side of the dish and bake for exactly 1 hour. A cake tester inserted 2 inches from the side will come out 3/4 clean. The center will appear very under-baked; this dessert is between a brownie and a pudding.

Allow to cool and serve with vanilla ice cream.

RENTER’S INSURANCE

Renter’s insurance is not requirement at GOLFVIEW APARTMENTS. However, renter’s insurance assures you that you’re protected against the damage or loss of personal property, when you rent. Your landlord may have insurance that protects the physical building in which you reside, but this will NOT cover YOUR personal property.

Did you know that renter’s insurance will cover:

• Personal property if damaged or stolen?

• A place to live should the building you were living in be damaged and you need somewhere to stay for an extended period of time – could you afford a hotel?

It is reassuring to have the peace of mind that comes from being protected.

DID YOU KNOW?

• To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the

potatoes.

• If you accidentally over salt a dish while it’s still cooking, drop in a peeled

potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant “fix-me-up”.

• Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will

keep for weeks.

• Peroxide will take blood out of clothing

WISDOM QUOTE
“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” – Nelson Mandela

VEHICLES
Just a friendly reminder that all vehicles must be registered with the Leasing office. Vehicles must be in working order and have a current license plate. Unregistered vehicles will be towed after a 24 hour period at the owner’s expense.
NO BUTTS ABOUT IT!
For all our smokers in the community, we ask you to throw your butts in the garbage once they are out and not on the ground! It not only keeps NEWPORT CREEK clean, but it also keeps everyone safe. Team up with us to keep our grounds beautiful and fire free with just a little consideration.
RENTER’S INSURANCE
Renters insurance is OPTIONAL at NEWPORT CREEK. However, it is a valuable policy to have for very small premium. Renters insurance assures you that you’re protected against the damage or loss of personal property, when you rent. Your landlord may have insurance that protects the physical building in which you reside, but this will NOT cover YOUR personal property.
Did you know that renter’s insurance will cover: • Personal property if damaged or stolen? • A place to live should the building you were living in be damaged and you need somewhere to stay for an extended period of time – could you afford a hotel?
It is reassuring to have the peace of mind that comes from being protected.
DID YOU KNOW?
• To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
• If you accidentally over salt a dish while it’s still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant “fix-me- up”.
• Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
• Peroxide will take blood out of clothing
What’s a person to do for fun when money is hard to come by?

DOGGONE IT!

Some people really don’t like surprises, especially when they step in them. Please do your neighbors a favor and pick up after your pets. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it also keeps our property looking great.

Also, don’t forget to keep your pets on a leash at all times when they are outside! It’s the law! Thanks for your cooperation!

NO BUTTS ABOUT IT!

BUGS!

Yes . . . spring has sprung and it’s that time of the year when the “bugs” come out too! If you are experiencing issues with some unsightly pests; call the Leasing Center and we will schedule our Pest Control Service Man, “Reggie”, to come and take care of it for you!

RENTER’S INSURANCE

Renters insurance is not a required at COUNTRY CLUB PARK but highly recommended. Renters insurance assures you that you’re protected against the damage or loss of personal property, when you rent.
It is reassuring to have the peace of mind that comes from being protected. Remember that we require a copy of the policy certification at lease signing as well as lease renewal.

Looking to get a new quote on insurance; we have a few local agents that we work with that write many policies for our Auburn Ridge residents. Call us and we will give you the information.

Summer is here and we want our residence to enjoy the amenity of having a community pool! We are enforcing our pool rules and will be asking to see pool passes. If you haven’t already done so; please pick up your pool pass at the Leasing Center.

* Please see 1.15 Communities with Pools located in Lease

* Please see 31. Facilities Guidelines, Waiver and Release located in POLICIES & HANDBOOK

DOGGONE IT!

Some people really don’t like surprises, especially when they step in them. Please do your neighbors a favor and pick up after your pets. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it also keeps our property looking great.

Also, don’t forget to keep your pet’s on a leash at all times when they are outside! Thanks for your cooperation!

NO BUTTS ABOUT IT!

For all our smokers in the community, we ask you to throw your butts in the garbage once they are out and not on the ground! It not only keeps AUBURN RIDGE clean, but it also keeps everyone safe. Team up with us to keep our grounds beautiful and fire free with just a little consideration.

BUGS!

Yes . . . spring has sprung and it’s that time of the year when the “bugs” come out too! If you are experiencing issues with some unsightly pests; call the Leasing Center and we will schedule our Pest Control Service Man, “Reggie”, to come and take care of it for you!

RENTER’S INSURANCE

Renters insurance is a requirement at AUBURN RIDGE. Renters insurance assures you that you’re protected against the damage or loss of personal property, when you rent. Your landlord may have insurance that protects the physical building in which you reside, but this will NOT cover YOUR personal property.

Did you know that renter’s insurance will cover:

• Personal property if damaged or stolen?

• A place to live should the building you were living in be damaged and you need somewhere to stay for an extended period of time – could you afford a hotel?

It is reassuring to have the peace of mind that comes from being protected. Remember that we require a copy of the policy certification at lease signing as well as lease renewal.

Looking to get a new quote on insurance; we have a few local agents that we work with that write many policies for our Auburn Ridge residents. Call us and we will give you the information.
